We bought this backpack for our older preschooler after quickly realizing that her small toddler backpacks didn't fit in any of her school folders. We wanted something more stylish and without princesses or super girly curls for her to wear for a few years. The backpack is very spacious and well made. It feels solid, has two side pockets (they're quite wide and her water bottle doesn't fit in, so we put it in a backpack), one large front pocket and two large internal compartments, plus an additional zipped pocket. and a pocket for the phone (in the end for her :). It definitely fits everything you need, even if you're in college, so it's big enough for us. The purple color is beautiful (although obviously with white stripes and got a little dirty on the underside pretty quickly with a 5 year old). The straps are easily adjustable and the bag will fit anyone from 5 years old to a large adult. Very happy with our purchase and look forward to years of wear.
