Review on Auto Meter 2242 Short Sweep Electric Oil Pressure Sender: Optimal Performance Guaranteed by Malik Axmed

Unfortunately, the device failed within 48 hours of installation. Today I'm buying a replacement sensor, I hope the new device will work as intended. 10/14/2016 - Update - After replacing the defective block, I found that the micro hole in the block was plugged with a piece of teflon tape. I used teflon tape to seal the threads. I have to admit that this is user error - my user error. I am revising my rating to 5 - very satisfied. I keep the replaced sender as a backup. 10/16/2016 - Update - The new device failed again. However, upon removing the transmitter unit, I noticed that the micro hole was clogged with small fragments of Teflon tape. I drilled an 1/8" hole in the sensor using the micro hole as a guide. I then proceeded to test the transmitter unit by hooking it up to a 30psi air compressor. The electrical resistance readings matched the Range is 0 to 200 ohms After final installation in the car the pressure gauge eventually worked fine and read oil pressure from 25 to 75psi I am now rating the unit a 4 due to the extra effort required to get it working properly works. I am posting this to let other readers know whose senders are out of service. Based on my experience it seems that the factory bore diameter needs to be increased to minimize failures in the field.
