it wouldn't be hot at night, but we've had a cold, rainy winter here.

I was concerned that the red incandescent light would keep my chameleon from sleeping at night, as it was with me; His tank is visible from my bedroom. And I had to change them frequently. Normally no heat would be okay at night but we had a cold, rainy winter here in the California Bay Area and it was hanging next to a red lightbulb and then when it blew up again it was a halogen lightbulb. The temperature in his aquarium did not rise above 65 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and dropped to 50 degrees at night. He was clearly unhappy with the fact that he never left the screen above. Studied and settled on this lightbulb. Now he's moving around his pelvis again, more active during the day, and he's returned to the middle tier to roost on his very secluded branch behind the foliage where he's slept all spring and summer, a favorite spot. He's happy, so I'm happy. I love my green bob, such a cool guy. I will stick with this bulb and also use it to keep our chicks warm after hatching.

Pros
