Beardie approved for heat lamps

I bought this for my bearded dragons. After using the red heat light for a week while waiting for supplies, I can see that there is a HUGE difference in cell temperature and behavior. He spends more time on his sun rock and the hot side of his aquarium where the heat source is gets to about 95 degrees in 10 minutes which is just what I need. I'm sure the insulation in my tank could be improved and the emitter could take it to a higher temperature but it's really great and allows me a hot and…

Started smoking after 6 months. Do not buy. Too risky

Update 6/5/2018: MUST READ! I downgraded my rating from 5 to 1 because the bulb suddenly started smoking. It's good that I was home to smell the burning. I saw smoke coming out of the bulb and part of the bulb was brown indicating where the burn was coming from. I have used it as a heat source for two of my terrapins. Thank God I managed to catch the smoke in front of the fire, otherwise my house and my turtles would have burned down. Don't buy this. It's not worth the risk. My turtles love…

Outstanding product, best in category heat lamps and terrarium mats

It was an EXPERIENCE. My friend and I had no idea this thing was ONLY giving off heat, not light, so we thought it was malfunctioning until we felt insane heat from this thing just seconds after turning it on! This is a great product BUT be careful if your aquarium isn't that big as it will eventually overheat and potentially kill your pet. I had 2 bearded dragons in a 175 gallon aquarium, the male was having a bit of trouble breathing due to the cold weather here in New York and also because I

it wouldn't be hot at night, but we've had a cold, rainy winter here.

I was concerned that the red incandescent light would keep my chameleon from sleeping at night, as it was with me; His tank is visible from my bedroom. And I had to change them frequently. Normally no heat would be okay at night but we had a cold, rainy winter here in the California Bay Area and it was hanging next to a red lightbulb and then when it blew up again it was a halogen lightbulb. The temperature in his aquarium did not rise above 65 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and dropped to…

I am impressed! Great little heat source and low electricity bills!

We needed something extra for an elderly cat who likes to sleep in a small cat hammock by the window from spring to winter. He's fine most of the year, but when winter comes it can get a little chilly in there and his old bones ache from the cold. We tried small heaters and infrared lamps, but the air and the sound of the heaters bothered him, and the red light bothered us. When I saw this ceramic heating pad it seemed like what I needed. I was particularly impressed by the low power…
