Review on ๐Ÿฃ BYB - 100W 110V Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter: Efficient Brooder Coop Pet Lamp Bulb by Rachel Simmons

I am impressed! Great little heat source and low electricity bills!

We needed something extra for an elderly cat who likes to sleep in a small cat hammock by the window from spring to winter. He's fine most of the year, but when winter comes it can get a little chilly in there and his old bones ache from the cold. We tried small heaters and infrared lamps, but the air and the sound of the heaters bothered him, and the red light bothered us. When I saw this ceramic heating pad it seemed like what I needed. I was particularly impressed by the low power consumption (lower electricity bill!), since radiant heaters and heat lamps usually use this kind of energy. It definitely met the requirements. It warms wonderfully and on particularly cold days our old kitten snuggles up right under it and purrs to sleep. It also does wonders for our energy bills as we don't have a high wattage heater running all the time! We bought 30 chicks this spring and used it as a heat source for the first 3 weeks or so and it worked great for that too. . Now it has been put back into storage for our cat for this winter. If it were to break now - which, by the way, shows no sign of it - it would be worth the price it has paid for it so far. I really expect it to last at least another season or two because it's solidly made and doesn't have any moving parts to break (unlike heaters!). I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a little extra warmth somewhere without the noise or blinding lights! My only caveats are keeping it away from anything flammable and keeping it at least a foot (preferably 18 inches) away from any animal you intend to use it on. It's getting hot! If your cat, chicken, dog, lizard, etc. avoids sitting under it on a cold day, you should probably put it higher or farther away. You can hold a meat or candy thermometer under it for a few hours to get an idea of the temperature if you're not sure.
