I had no trouble connecting to my 2001 Toyota Solara. Completely plug and play. It might not have all the bells and whistles that devices over $45 have, but if you want to follow the basics and read and clear codes, this is for you. Also, there is no need to buy a metering unit and you have the option to change the orientation of the screen, making installing one of these units on your dash carrier very easy. Although the graphics are simple, the text is much easier to read in direct sunlight than other brands. This is a great gadget!
