I would like to start by saying that I am a car enthusiast who loves working on my cars - I am not a professional mechanic. I bought another Thinkscan (601) airbag display reader last year and wanted to upgrade it to the max. This Thinkscan has a much larger screen by default and looks a lot more advanced. On a superficial level, it reads codes, clears codes, checks readiness, performs configurations (e.g. keys, tires) and diagnoses engine, ECU, ABS, SRS, traction and many more systems than my 601. It's a dedicated touchscreen Tablet with no physical buttons other than power, and the OBD module is now wireless. When loaded the functions go much deeper than my 601. I see that there is support for more vehicles (like Bugatti, Lamborghini, even Chinese manufacturers) and even instructions for their use are built in. In terms of ease of use, I'm glad it comes with a manual - be sure to read it before proceeding. Updates are available online and advanced configuration scans can be downloaded (additional cost). My first use of it was diagnosing the triangle/SRS/ABS/VSC gauge on my Prius where it read codes that indicated I needed a new battery. Postfix the codes are gone and it helped me confirm it. For those who have multiple cars and want almost everything to be readable, this would be an added benefit.
