Versatile Tapered Gear for Industrial Applications

This tapered gear is a perfect fit for industrial and scientific applications. It's made of durable steel that can withstand high loads and has precise teeth for smooth transmission. The tapered design allows for flexible power transmission and easy installation. However, the gear requires regular lubrication to maintain optimal performance.

Pros
  • Durable and precise
Cons
  • Requires regular lubrication.

Much better than expected

I bought these for a project at my lumber shop. I was expecting them to be sintered metal powder but turns out they were actually made from stock. The accuracy of the bore, ring gear and keyway is good, but the teeth are a bit rough. This set of gears works great at low speeds or in intermittent modes like mine.

Pros
  • Worm Gear
Cons
  • Quick Guide

not used in the end. Resistance to turning seemed relatively high

I originally wanted to use this for a new table I made for my Delta 11-990 drill press. (See attached picture). The new table rested on a handle (note that the handle is usually next to the drill stand) which I used to lower or raise the drill table. As a result, I couldn't turn the knob all the way. The strategy was to move the handle to the front of the drill press table so it was out of the way. I've seen several YouTube videos on how to do this. For this I needed these gears to change the…
