If you're looking for a protein bar that isn't overloaded with carbohydrates and sugar like most protein bars these days, you've come to the right place. I have type 2 diabetes, so the first thing I look at on the label is the sugar content. Most protein and energy bars contain so much sugar that you might as well eat a Snickers bar. This bar has the lowest amount of sugar (2g with 6g sugar alcohol) and carbs (16g) I've found. The vast majority of "protein" bars contain MUCH more carbs than protein. In this respect, too, this bar is a very rare exception. Pure Protein is fairly light at 200 calories and may not be a complete "meal replacement," but it's definitely a great snack for those looking to stick to a high-protein diet. And don't let your blood sugar levels skyrocket. It's a good source of sustainable energy and the taste isn't too bad. I would definitely never confuse it with a cup of peanut butter. The overall flavor is a bit bland and the chocolate is darker than the milk chocolate you find in most candy bars. However, if you have a craving for chocolate or something sweet, these bars will satisfy you nicely. I will upload a photo of the nutritional label for this product as for some strange reason it is not included in the description. This product does not contain any significant amounts of vitamins or minerals, so it definitely does not replace a multivitamin or most protein shakes. It includes a disclaimer for sugar alcohols, which can cause intestinal discomfort. If you only eat one bar at a time I don't know if that's a problem. If you eat a few of these, you will most likely experience some discomfort. Another weird disclaimer on the label mentions "partially genetically modified". As far as I know, manufacturers in the US are not required to disclose this fact, but they may be in Canada, where these bars are made. Almost every processed food can contain GMOs. Usually you just never get told about it. At least Pure Protein expressly points this out. These bars also contain sucralose. Some people react badly to this ingredient. As a diabetic I use a lot of sucralose and have no side effects unless I take too much of it at once. There's some soy, too, but otherwise lacks a lot of the intimidating-sounding chemical ingredients. If you are looking for a snack while keeping your blood sugar under control I cannot recommend this product highly enough. If you're only interested in the taste, buy a Snickers bar. With 20g of protein and a minimum of sugar and carbohydrates, this is one of the healthiest snacks that tastes great and satisfies your sweet tooth. They're expensive in terms of cost per gram, but you won't find a better deal when it comes to quality protein in a compact, portable, and delicious form.
