To say that installing this memory is a headache would be an understatement. I have a DX58SO motherboard and a Coolermaster Hyper212+ heatsink. If you use two fans on this sink and place them on the back of the case on this board, you have a heck of a lot of time to install RAM. My solution was to take the motherboard out of my case, rotate the heatsink 90 degrees (fans now face north/south), and then remove one fan. The layout of the DX58SO with this cooler blocks 1 RAM slot completely. Luckily I use a Thermaltake V9 Black PC case which is very well ventilated so losing a fan wasn't an issue. up to 1600MHz was actually 1621MHz which resulted in my CPU being clocked at 2.7GHz. Luckily, this gave me a chance to clean the heatsink, re-stick the processor, and it all works cooler as a result. The extra storage is fantastic, always having 13GB of RAM in the camera is a truly amazing thing. This allows me to allocate 4GB of RAM to my VMWare installations without having to worry about it. It was correctly recognized by my OS X installation after a BIOS setup and is now fully usable. As usual, Corsair makes a great product and I am very happy with the update. Next stop is one of their SSDs for maximum performance.
