Very easy to assemble. The packaging is a bit worn but all parts are present. The pad seems thick. Although I'm not entirely sure it will work. I'm small, 5ft 2in, and the seat has a contoured design that really doesn't go well with MY seat, so I had to put a flat pillow on the chair to make it comfortable. The rear support moves back and forth a little. I would have preferred to have a back that moves up and down to accommodate individual spikes. But the price was good and the shipping was fast and I only spend two hours a day sitting and ---( I'm safe and healthy and that's the most important thing.) PS I've sat in it a few times. Months. It seems to fit me just fine, but I left a flat pillow on it. I don't know why they added a contoured chair pad instead of a flat one and over time it would fit someone's butt.
