I don't have dreadlocks, but I have extremely long hair and I like to keep it in braids. I got this to decorate with my braids with. I had never tried putting anything like these in braids, but I found a lot in this very generous and versatile amount of ornaments that I could use and that I like. I really like the big silver wraps that wrap all the way around the braid. You can easily squeeze them shut so that they stay in place. They look really cool although they're not comfortable to sleep in. This is pretty well matched so that everything in it goes together. There's nothing here that's super high quality but it's certainly fine to go in your hair where you might lose a piece or two anyways, but that said a few of these pieces are very nice. I find them easy to use in my super fine hair as long as it's braided so I'm sure it would work in deadlocks and thicker braids with coarser hair too. These are all pretty hair friendly and don't pull hair out or cause breakage or anything. With the ones with spirals, you just have to be careful putting them in and taking them out.
