I live in the South West. I found that after about a month of use at high temperatures (over 117°), a blue-white dust remained all over my car, especially the dashboard and inside of the windshield. The image started to fade but you could still tell dogs were in the shadows when I stopped using it. However, I noticed that the shade lost some of its structure due to the heat and was sagging due to the heat at the end of the day. I bought my husband a Star Wars sun visor and I have never seen material degradation like this. It also has hinges so you can raise the shade - this sun visor didn't fit my 2012 Honda Civic very well and it was difficult to get it to sit on the window. I wouldn't buy it again because I need some serious shade for where I live, but if I lived in a colder, less sunny area I think I'd buy it again.
