I got to paint my kitchen cabinets with a 5 month old and a 5 year old while I was on the graveyard shift the whole time worked. It took me almost 2 months to sand, clean and paint piece by piece, but I had a lot of breaks. If I can do it with a little kid, so can you! Email the company for free color samples! The paint didn't fully cover the texture of the wood, I agree. My cabinets had 4 coats of paint applied, they appeared to be designed with natural pits and valleys so additional coats were needed to cover any cracks. The coat dries quickly, if I didn't have all my breaks and mom's breaks I could get this done over the weekend. I sanded the cabinets lightly, cleaned the Crude Cutter and then painted Vindex with a brush as my paint tray was too small for the roller and I didn't want to buy a new one. I had a problem with cracked paint drying out no matter how well I thought I was cleaning. But after applying another coat or two, the cracks disappeared. I definitely have a few flaws due to my own carelessness, but my closets look so much better! And the process was so easy that I'm OK with the idea of sanding it down and repainting it after a few years. I had to buy an extra liter because of the 4 layers needed for my cabinets. If you buy another liter, do not order anything at the same time. The extra liter was wrapped in bubble wrap and had about 2 cubic feet of room to roll, which of course caused a leak.
