This is my second teak bath mat. I've had my other one for years. My entire bathroom is slate and ever since I discovered hard bath mats I prefer them. They are not soft, they are fully functional and hygienic. They are also very unique and good looking. My guests enjoy using them and often comment that they are uncomfortable but work very well. I love cleanliness very much, so I really like their hygienic quality. At the end of the week when I clean I see all the dirt under the rug and think if I had a fabric rug then it would all be hidden in the rug along with moisture/mold done out of wood - this can last forever. You have to repeat them every few years. They are well polished but with daily use the finish will dull within a year or two and you only use teak oil once a year to protect it. With good care, it could be the last bathmat you buy. The water is very beautiful. It has holes in it so it doesn't get too slippery.> Mine is on uneven real slate - it handled uneven stone floors easily and I'm tall. He is strong and strong.
