This is a simple hand mixer. There are only three speeds: fast, faster, and "throw the dough into the next room". There is no low speed, so make sure the beaters are in the bowl and upright before turning on the mixer. Wire beaters and high power do a good job of beating lumps. All surfaces of the fitting that are prone to splashing water are smooth and easy to clean. Whiskers will be thrown out with great enthusiasm, so make sure you're aiming for the sink before hitting the button. Cuisinart sells a variety of whisks for this blender, but whisks work well for most jobs. I think buying a lot of accessories for this blender goes against its basic nature. I only use a hand mixer occasionally and need a basic model. 5 Stars.
