Great value headphones

These aren't the best headphones I have. I have Sennheiser HD 660 and PCX-580. Although they sound good. They offer decent bass for music, no artificial hum and otherwise appear fairly balanced. They're not as transparent as my 660s and you're far less likely to hear anything new in familiar music than in high-end headphones, but I'd have trouble finding faults if I hadn't already. own high quality banks. I bought these because I broke the headband (actually a cup mount) on my PCX-580 and needed closed-back headphones to wear when running my vacuum and tools. They're not noise-cancelling headphones per se, but they do reduce noise levels that can be harmful to your ear's health. Noise canceling works. It's not the best in the business. but it eliminates the kind of monotonous noise that noise reduction was designed for. For example, I pick up high frequency hum in the cable going to my studio monitors (there are noisy monitors between them). and turning on the noise reduction completely erases that whistle. I suspect that this will probably calm down the cabin of the plane a bit. although I haven't traveled since I've had them. Edit: Walked past some large mobile generators with headphones today. Overall I think they were powering a large university building while its network appeared to be down. Turn noise cancellation on and off. It did a very good job of eliminating the low frequency rumble/rumble that came from them, but not as much of the high frequency they generated. Still think they will behave well on the plane. They're lighter than my BT PCX-580, which I see as an advantage. Battery life is very good... Edit: I removed the little chatter about the blue LED staying on when it's off. This is the noise canceling LED. Noise cancellation has its own on/off slider. I wasn't at the other end of the mic so I can't comment on how well it picks up voice. However, I had no complaints when using them during Zoom calls. They are good enough and cheap enough that I would be tempted to buy a second pair. one for use with my computer in my office and one for hearing protection (with my phone).

Pros
  • Fast charge for 40 hours of playback: 10 minutes of charge gives 2 hours of listening time. You can enjoy peace and quiet without noise for up to 40 hours. Note. When not using Bluetooth headphones, disable ANC to reduce power consumption.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
