The future of mirrorless cameras is here. Coming from the 5D Mark IV and other DSLRs, I'm very used to using OVF. But the R5's EVF is big, bright, clear, and as a bonus, myopia doesn't need to wear glasses when looking through the EVF. Autofocus is lightning fast, with minimal lag and blackout when using the 12fps mechanical shutter. If you're worried about the stop motion effect in the EVF when tracking with the EOS R, this camera gets better with faster Digic X processing. IBIS is a game changer and works great with matched EF lenses. I could hold at ISO 100 with an adjusted 24-70 f2.8 ii indoors! With the same lens on the 5D4, I had to use at least ISO 6400 to get a sharp image. This opens up a whole new world in terms of low-light photography and stabilization for EF and RF lenses that don't have IS in the lens. comfortable in my hand. The joystick is in the back, as is the rear wheel. I wish the rear wheel was bigger. I rarely use video so I don't need to record 8k for a long period of time. If you're worried about overheating, you might want to buy a dedicated camcorder. In terms of photos, this is a near-perfect camera to me. In terms of battery life, I was able to take around 650 shots before the battery died and I used 120Hz for the viewfinder and looked a lot in the menu settings. That's about double the CIPA rating, so I'm happy with that, although it's lower than the 5D4, except the mirrorless system uses more battery. Overall I'm very impressed with this camera and it's a great upgrade and a worthy successor to the 5D Mark IV.
