It's really unfair to give a rave review after you've only had the product for 24 hours, but I want to give you my first impressions of this service package. It came in a large box with no visible damage and both the companion and Wally were brand new, unused items. Installation was quick and activating and setting up the Flex software was easy via Dish customer support. Once initial setup and programming is complete and paid for, I unplugged the wally and moved the dish a bit because during the activation process I noticed that the signal was on 31 because it was pointing straight at the chimney on my roof. After Wally was plugged back in, it took exactly 11 minutes from turning it on to seeing the TV on screen. The signal was now at 53. My food vendor was great, but you'll have to listen to them when they start reading the treaties because the scoundrel tried to sneak in a cover charge that I didn't want. Only time will tell how well this system works with camping installers, but I would highly recommend it to anyone. Managing your account through myDish is also very easy. Next we have the DVR activation and possibly an OTA adapter. I will update all of this as time permits. At the moment I just place the record on a flat surface, so I didn't buy a stand for it. The DVR still only gives you one recording at a time and you still need to see what you are recording but I don't care, just record stuff in the middle of the day/night and you have something to watch. I tested the East and West Arc satellites with no problems. need to be reformatted. Not so with an active hard drive. DO NOT buy an OTA adapter, it only picks up about 2/3 of the channels your bunny ears pick up. I have IE 72 on bunny ears and only 51 on OTA adapter and you will have something to look at.
