Review on Massdrop x Koss Porta Pro X On-Ear Headphones: 🎧 Noise-Cancelling Mic, Voice Assistant, Track Skip | Collapsible Midnight Blue by Richard Puckett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They are alright; some muddy bass, missing mids

Background:- Use Superlux 668b daily- [Previous] Owners: HE400i, Sennheiser 5/6XX, X2HR and other semi-open/closed phones in this price range Comparatively they have quite a lot of mids. The bass was actually pretty good compared to the open benches I have and led me to use them for certain music, but I couldn't overcome the lack of mids. These are fairly comfortable headphones, but their setup is interesting. I usually put them on with ties, not a pad. The hard/loose switches never seemed to work properly so it was a bug. The microphone works very well. Nothing studio, but the usual built-in microphone. There is nothing to complain about here. I haven't tried the cheaper Koss KPH30iW but I think they are very similar. If minimalism is what you're looking for, I'd try these, not this one. Or just avoid everything together. Although I'm a bit biased because I prefer open/semi-open headphones.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubt
