Review on 🌑️ Taylor Leave-in Meat Thermometer: 3-Inch Dial, Stainless Steel - Oven-Safe Analog Dial for Grill, BBQ, and Kitchen Cooking by Jamie Lewis

Not durable for thermometer and timer

This is one of about a dozen meat thermometers I've used over the past two decades and is probably the worst. Bought this primarily for cooking turkey. Unlike instant read thermometers, it is designed to be inserted and left in the poultry or roast throughout the cooking process. I chose this model because of the large dial so I could possibly read the temp without lifting a 20 pound bird out of the oven. The thermometer also features an arrow on the dial that you supposedly set to the temperature you want to reach. Great idea but it fell out when I took it out of the first bird. In fact, I hadn't even taken the pan out of the oven when I heard the plastic dart hit the floor. I took it a few days after first use. out of the box and noticed that it doesn't register properly. The arrow in my kitchen drawer was over 180Β°. I do not think so. Despite the tiny dials, I will return to instant-read thermometers. Aldo, the probe on this thermometer is so thick that it's useless for any meat object at least 3-4 inches thick. So only turkeys and larger roasts.
