I run a small IT business with a few Linux servers, about 100 users and a few websites. To avoid using multiple tape loaders, we switched from DAT to VXA, as nothing else could affect the price/performance ratio of these drives. Tip: Read your Tape Door manual very carefully. However, we are renouncing all our investments in these drives. The problem is this: if the drive is completely dead, Exabyte will issue an RMA. If the drive has intermittent problems, they won't. Our last contact with tech support resulted in them stating that we could fix the drive but not under warranty. Before purchasing, I received good advice from others who had had the same unfortunate experience, which I immediately and wholeheartedly ignored. I am ashamed.
