This pump was purchased to drain a pool at the end of the season. The specs looked good for the price (1700 gallons/hour), so I figured the 8000 gallon pool should empty in about 5 hours (more or less). I dropped the pump in the pool, let go of it and came back 4 hours later expecting most of the water to be gone. What I found was a nearly full pool, so I decided to test this pump with a 55 gallon drum. At 1,700 gallons per hour, the drum should fill in less than two minutes. After 10 minutes and 7 seconds the drum was full, bringing this pump closer to 330 gallons per hour. I gave this review one star because it is the lowest rating you can rate and still leave a comment. "Noise Level" and "Ease of Installation" received 5 stars. "Longevity" got a star for being brought back by Revain.
