I cut the cable last October so I was trying to figure out a way to connect a Roku device to an old TV in the living room. I bought another device and it didn't work so I wanted to give up and look for a new TV at a good price. I saw this device at Revain and decided to try again and it worked. At first I could only get black and white, but after several emails with the manufacturers, they told me how to connect it to video slots, sometimes they are not marked, and it worked. I have to say they were very helpful and understanding. So now I can put off buying another TV for a while and my grandkids can watch all the cartoons they want.
- If you're connecting an HDMI converter to an older TV with a 4:3 (square) aspect ratio, we recommend setting the Roku to 4:3 in the settings menu.
