Review on SUUNTO SS010605011 MB6 Compass by Randy Bin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

A great idea that fails due to cheap, lousy execution.

Broke after 5 minutes of first use. Good design that focuses on utility and functionality. However, the device comes in a cheap, flimsy plastic box that sticks when you open and close it. Worse, the compass component is held in place by a thin, flimsy brass clip. The clip didn't keep my compass in the box. It gave way as the compass turned with the usual gentle push. Too bad Suunto didn't make it more reliable. What they advertised as a "durable compass" is not durable at all. Overpriced for a decent little compass in a crappy case. I love this concept so much that I would happily pay twice as much if it was made out of a higher quality, stronger and more durable material and the compass was held securely in place with more rigid materials. But it's no use to me because it's in production right now - a piece of cobbled together junk.
