I was a bit skeptical about how comfortable this foot massager would be based on what I read in other people's comments. But it's easy to vary the pressure by laying the mat on a rug or floor and putting on your socks first until you get used to the feel. I use it 3 times a day for 5 minutes each time and it's perfect for me. I'll increase the time a bit when I get used to it. I initially use the mat on carpeted floors, but will eventually switch to hard floors. Start slowly and develop your tolerance. Although it doesn't hurt, it's a bit uncomfortable at first.
