This thing worked great for me! There aren't many instructions, but it was pretty intuitive for me. I've seen some people have to change the settings to get the source they want, but mine went straight to the source (VCR) without changing anything in the settings. I set up the recording in DVD NTSC format and thought I could copy it to a disc and play it, but it didn't work like a normal DVD. It will be played in the player that plays the video data files. I was unpleasantly surprised to find that DVD Maker is no longer part of Windows 10, so I had to do some research to find something that can burn a disc to play like a regular DVD. I found a DVDStyler that is free to download and it works like a champ! It will install the menu and let you play the disc on a regular DVD player. This software was also slightly faster than my previous Win DVD Maker experience. The quality of the video was just as good as the original video, which wasn't originally very high definition (VHS-C). I'm very happy to be able to store old home videos digitally because old videos degrade over time. The device gets quite warm, but is well ventilated.
