Struggling with the moisture problem in my workshop, I realized I couldn't solve it without monitoring the results - so I chose the wireless SensorPush for this purpose Hygrometer with alarms. it quickly became clear that while the SensorPush is great, I wanted to see the humidity immediately when I was there, so I also grabbed a ThermoPro TP55 digital hygrometer, which I can easily attach to my gun safe with magnets. If I wasn't using the SensorPush, I'd probably be happy with the ThermoPro, but I had a few issues with it: 1) The humidity readings didn't match the SensorPush readings, which was driving me nuts. 2) Even when the SensorPush reported significant fluctuations in relative humidity, the ThermoPro seemed stuck. It always reported 48-52%, although SensorPush reported a much larger range. After a few weeks I returned to Revain and purchased an AcuRite 01080 hygrometer which turned out to be a great solution. 1) AcuRite measurements are MUCH faster, hence reporting the same fluctuations as SensorPush. 2) AcuRite supports calibration (which I did with the Boveda One Step Calibration Kit). It's a bit tricky to calibrate Acurite in a Boveda bag; but it only took a few minutes with the button map from the instruction pages. (The problem is that you can't see the buttons - you have to feel them.) Interestingly, the AcuRite originally differed by almost 5% - but now it matches the SensorPush perfectly (which is also calibrated). After reading the reviews, I almost bought the AcuRite due to complaints about the contrast and screen size. Personally, I see no problem at all - for my purposes, that seems big enough; and while the contrast is definitely not as good as on the sticker, it's not bad either. Contrast is pretty much comparable to any other digital display. If you compare the AcuRite to the ThermoPro, the ThermoPro has an easy-to-use touchscreen and backlight, while the AcuRite seems more geared towards being a good hygrometer. constantly cycling between Celsius and Fahrenheit or want a backlight then consider the ThermoPro - otherwise just get the AcuRite, it's a really great device.[***Updated 12/12/2017** *] That has worked so well I bought another one to keep an eye on the humidity in my main gun safe. After standing and calibrating for about 8 hours - it works just as well as the first one and tracks other sensors perfectly.
