I ordered this key to replace the door lock on a Pearl grandfather clock. At first the key didn't fit at all. Since the key was relatively cheap, I decided to adapt it to my lock. First I bore out a slightly larger barrel to fit the wrench on the locking pin. Then, using a thin metal file, I narrowed the key's protrusion and aligned the front and back of the protrusion. In the end, the key worked in the lock, but the lock mechanism was quite stiff. Now that the door is open, the lock has been removed and oiled. The edges of the key were additionally beveled and rounded with a file. Now the lock works smoothly, the new key requires very little stress.
