works great. I use this to make VoIP calls in Google Hangouts with cheap headphones with a mic. I have on-ear Bluetooth and USB headsets with mics, and while the sound quality is great, I often find myself in noisy, busy environments and don't like using extension mics (looks overkill in a coffee shop setup). I also find that background noise distracts the people I meet. They work great mainly because my headphones have a small form factor and I can move the mic closer to reduce ambient noise during calls.
