Review on Ceiling Fan Remote Control with Reverse Function by Ceiling Fan Remote Controls by Tina Wells

Our ceiling fan controller stopped working and I searched for a replacement to no avail. The problem is that the old controller (Halsey UC-7040) uses a 5-bit code (5 DIP switches), while all the replacements I could find are 4-bit (4 DIP switches). I contacted a major ceiling fan retailer and was told they didn't have a replacement available. On a whim I bought this controller anyway, knowing it must be incompatible but figured I'd run through 16 possible switch combinations and maybe get lucky. Sure enough, the second switch combo I tried works great! I don't guarantee it will work for everyone with the same issue, but given the price of this controller, it might be worth the risk. I need. Appears to be just as well made as the one it replaces and the controls are comfortable and work as expected.
