I bought a set of 3 inch locking wheels for use on a drill rig. The overall height from floor to top of mounting plate is 4 1/8 inches. Overall I think they appear to be of decent quality and almost identical to the 3 inch polyurethane rolls I can buy at my local hardware store for the same base price per roll. I would give them 5 stars but one of the reel guards had a metal burr sticking out of it that could easily cut my hand if I grabbed it in the wrong place. I suspect they are made in China, so it's possible the quality control or finish is a little lax in the burr. The burr was easily repaired with sandpaper, but I would have preferred that the rollers didn't have any sharp edges in the first place. Installation in 18mm cabinet quality plywood was fairly easy. 1/4" hex head screws with washers on either side of the joint and a nylon locknut to secure them. Your setup may differ if the casters are attached to different materials. Count and think! I had a very small gap between the bottom of my screws and the reel body. I had to grind the screws in a few spots but it didn't matter much. Overall, these reels appear to be very durable and will serve their purpose well. For those wondering, they also match the Rockler Blue Universal T Track. I expect to purchase more casters from this company for a table saw cart I build in the future.
