I bought these LED UV lights to replace some of my old school UV lights for a Halloween display. They are almost TOO bright! They lit up my spooky female props like crazy, and this year they dwarfed everyone. I was very happy with the results. I've used them at close range (3-4 feet) so I can't vouch for their long throw distance. The balance of the lanterns on their small holders is such that they can be used without being attached to a surface, but the surface must be level and stable and the lanterns must be tilted at an angle of 45° or more. Mine were on a low window sill pointing to life size props and they were perfect for my purpose. I also cannot guarantee durability or strength. I hope these lights will work next year when I take them out of storage. I keep some old school black lights just in case.
