This is exactly what is advertised I use them to stretch my large canvas painting onto wooden frames. I use one on each side of the back of each painting. The largest painting I hung was 7 feet tall and 5 feet wide. he weighs about 45 pounds. The hooks are flimsy but will hold the painting 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the wall depending on how accurate you place the hanging nail or screw. I attached my hooks to a slightly recessed backing plate on the back of the frame and the pictures hang perfectly flush with the wall. You can cut a small rectangle in the wood before attaching the hanger to get the same effect. I also recommend this type of suspension for concealed mounting. Flush lock
