I use this product to switch between an HP laptop and a Lenovo desktop. I bought this product to replace a KVM switch that was using a VGA monitor port and a PS2 mouse and keyboard. This switch still worked, but Lenovo PCs running Windows 10 did not support the PS2 mouse and keyboard. I bought this KVM switch to switch 2 monitors, a keyboard and mouse, and an external drive and USB drive. In my case, I only had one HDMI port on my PC and one HDMI Displayport port on my laptop. One monitor has VGA and DVI connectors and the other monitor has VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. I've tried connecting HDMI to VGA ports between a monitor and both PCs, but that didn't work for me. Currently I can switch a monitor, keyboard and mouse, external drive and USB drive. This switch is great for that. It's easy to use. The remote switch works great, as do the keyboard shift commands, but I found myself using the mouse shift key the most often. Although I can only switch one of the monitors, the ability to switch other items made this switch worth the cost and ease of installation.
