I have decided to build a home server on a budget. I'm using an old PC that only has PCI slots (no PC Express). But it still has a 64-bit processor and my main reason for buying it was storing a ton of data along with remote access. I bought Windows 8 Professional, additional RAM, and two Seagate 3TB hard drives. When I plugged them in, the system only recognized them as 700MB drives. I contacted Seagate and they said I need newer hard drive controller drivers (which are on the motherboard). We found out that the controllers belong to nVidia, so I contacted them. They said they only have 32-bit Vista drivers for my computer. So I bought this card which claims to work with a drive up to 4TB and the drivers were available for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8. I followed the instructions, installed the card, downloaded the drivers and in a few minutes the system came up and recognized the drives - a full 3TB on each drive which I then mirrored. By the way, I experimented with it, and the mirror works. I caused an error with one of the disks and everything kept preparing. Then I pulled out the plate and disassembled it. When I remounted it as a raw drive, the OS continued to repair. That's a great card.
