I refrain from giving this device a grade other than 4. I use it a little differently than intended by the manufacturer. I was looking for an extendable plank that can be placed on a dog cart. Adjust the length of the dog run to fit a long leash reach and make it retractable so it doesn't get tangled in anything on the floor. I've never found a good leash that retracts overhead. So I took the bracket model and adapted it to work with carabiners and cable hinges (see image). This is to keep costs down.
