I've been using Goddard's Silver Care Liquid Dip for a few years now and love it. However, you must ensure that the jewelry is real sterling silver and not plated as this will remove the plating. Even if your silver is platinum plated, it can remove the platinum plating and make the jewelry look washed out grey. The vacuum cleaner stinks to high heaven, but I don't mind because I don't hold the lid open long enough for the smell to become unpleasant. Just dip the jewelry in the solution for a moment (preferably if you have one of those little baskets that fit in a glass) and don't forget to at least rinse the jewelry off before putting it on. I usually wash with dish soap and hot water and then dry thoroughly.
