Ideal for snack trays. However, I was dying to use it as a cooking plate - IE: chop onions, peppers, olives, etc. in a day, then use the plate to hold cooked food for a week for pancakes, omelettes, tacos, salads, etc. As it turns out, the concept of prep is a bit misguided in that some things spoil before others, and cleaning individual compartments takes a lot of effort. As for the product, I wouldn't put onions, garlic or other spicy food in it as the plastic retains the smell - otherwise it's a good product. Oh, the colors are annoyingly faded - but if you want to eat my food - don't throw away my storage containers, brother. ;-)
