Bought the XL; I have a 43" waist and have about a 2" extra length off the buckle. Was worried that 3" might be too wide for my shortwaisted figure, but it's fine. Stretchy enough to wear lower on the waist OR just above, depending on the style of dress or top. Nicely made. Might need more colours!
