At first glance they seem cheap, especially the springs inside. However, if you use them, they work pretty well, and I think they'll hold up if you don't leave them open all the time. Regular playing cards such as those supplied with these holders slide in and out but are still held securely. They can be lifted so you don't have to hold them all the time. Feeding and unplugging cards will damage the edges of the cards over time. I wouldn't use them for board game cards if that didn't mean they were up my sleeves. These holders work well with some of the premium cards I've tried, but not so well with cheaper penny envelopes. But for $10 it's not that bad.
