It looks well built and goes very well with the 1999 E320. I installed it with no problems, everything was fine for a week and then I noticed the engine shaking in the Idling on the brake lights as well as the flickering of the dashboard's internal gauges. Blinking lights and engine shake disappear at higher RPMs. I found it hard to believe that the new alternator could be the problem, I replaced the spark plugs and wires - no change. Then I noticed that the belt tensioner made large movements when the engine shook. I replaced the tensioner and belt myself - no change, the new tensioner still has excess play. Finally going back to the original Bosch alternator but with a new voltage regulator and brushes - no more wobbling, no more flickering of the bulb.
