You should take it out and let it dry after soaking up the water. I didn't know that, hence the purchase. Even if your vacuum seems weaker than usual, STOP using it. He's probably choking on your old and dirty filter. Replace the filter and buy a new one like this one. You don't want to burn out the engine by letting the engine breathe through a straw (clogged filter). Anyway, this filter arrived on time, was easy to replace, and was reasonably priced.
