Review on Sigma Contemporary Lens for Canon EF: 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM by Mario Hinton

I am a bird enthusiast and have had exceptional results with this lens. This is a large lens and although I read the specs my mind wasn't fully prepared for such a large size. Compare with Canon 75-300mm, and that's without a lens hood. However, it's light enough to carry around and take pictures without a tripod. I mounted it on an EOS Rebel T6 and although I initially shot in some darkness, I was able to fine tune the settings to get excellent shots even in imperfect lighting. A camera with a wide ISO range shouldn't have any problems. The optical balance is impeccable here, allowing you to capture clear images in all conditions. Sample Photo 1. A snowy egret was photographed from I estimate 30 yards away, with late afternoon light filtering through the clouds. Example 2 with a pair of scissors included a gloomy indoor environment with an unbearably slow 1/8th of a second, and that's CRISP. Focuses lightning fast in close range mode (1.6-6m) and damn fast in long range mode (6-infinity). Can be sluggish when you get it to full range, especially when firing from behind cover. Why are you in full mode when you sniff? Oh yes, because you have the option of permanent manual control. For versatile and adaptable telephoto shooting, the zoom can be operated in push-pull mode. If that's your focus (huh), this is a fantastic lens. It's also $500 cheaper than Canon's own 400mm telephoto lens. You want to capture incredible BIRD ACTION shots while standing knee deep in swamp water, right?
