I learned to use those cheap, serrated, single-ended grapefruit tools as a kid, but this one is way better because it has a dual blade that lets you cut on BOTH Sides of the membrane can cut at once. When used correctly, you can easily and quickly "slice" a grapefruit (or orange) into easy-to-open pieces. (And you can always squeeze the juice afterwards.) Remember to brush between the blades each time you're done, as the springy action will grab the pulp.
