Does Exactly What It Says

Let me start by saying that this product does exactly what it says on the tin and is worth every penny spent. I ran into video output issues during setup, but it was NOT a KVM switch. Other people have reported issues with VGA adapters connecting to KVM. I had similar issues and it was solely related to the VGA port on my graphics card, not KVM. One of my computers (2 year old Dell Inspiron with 1 HDMI and 1 VGA) worked fine, another (6 year old Lenovo ThinkCentre with 1 VGA and 1 DP) had a lot of problems and I had to put in a new graphics card. in it (1 HDMI and 1 DPI). I use 2 identical Asus monitors. Unless you're using newer computers, I highly recommend getting a graphics card with an HDMI port and either DP or DPI, and then buying the appropriate HDMI-to-HDMI converters. In addition to the KVM cables that come with this device, you need to purchase 2 HDMI cables. You will also need HDMI cables from the monitor to the KVM switch. In total you need 2 KVM cables, 4 HDMI cables and all necessary adapters. Be careful with VGA adapters as they only go one way. For your health, label all cables as you go.1. Connect the USB end of each KVM cable to the USB port on a mouse or keyboard on the back of each computer. Connect the HDMI port to the HDMI port on your graphics card or adapter of choice. It does not matter. Connect one end of the KVM cable's HDMI cable to SPC1 (Computer 1) or SPC2 (Computer 2).2. Then, using the purchased HDMI cables, connect Computer 1 HDMI cable to MPC1 and Computer 2 HDMI cable to MPC2 on the KVM. Then connect each HDMI cable to their respective computers (in my case it was a DP to HDMI converter and a VGA to HDMI converter on the back of my respective computers).3. Finally, connect the HDMI cables from the monitors to the KVM's SMON and MMON connectors, and connect the keyboard and mouse to the KVM.4's keyboard and mouse connectors. With both computers powered on (I did this with both units running all the time), power on the KVM box and hold down the number one button on the front of the KVM box for a few seconds until you hear a very hear a loud beep. beeps. This initialization is KVM. You should see Computer One if you hold down the number one button. You may need to put the display in enhanced mode if you haven't already. Then short press the 2 button on the KVM and you should go straight to the second computer. The KVM unit will emit a short beep each time you switch from computer 1 to computer 2. At this point you should smoothly switch between Computer 1 and Computer 2 by pressing the buttons on the KVM unit. If you're getting an HDMI error (signal error, out of range, or no signal) on one of your monitors and you're 100% sure you have the right converter, it's probably related to a specific VGA port that you have may need to buy another graphics card. Much luck!
