I've never had luck with wire scoops, but this proves that even the simplest of products can be ruined. After proper assembly, between 50 and 70% of all knives can be easily detached from the wire, even with a special crimping tool. The attached photo shows the latest practice in using paddles to get a good crimp. I have used the same wire crimping machines on many other projects and they have worked great with all of the other products. I'm not sure if the metal in these shovels is too thin or too soft, but it just doesn't really work.
