Glue does not come out of the packaging on the first try. Eventually it gets hot and the glue stick is pushed forward with help from the outside, but the glue doesn't flow out. My guess is that the glue is melting and running all over the inside of the glue gun because it's not coming out of the nozzle. So he digests a whole stick of glue, while not a drop of glue comes out of the nozzle. Also, the glue stick feed mechanism is weak and slides on the glue stick. I used a high quality Gorilla glue stick, so the glue gun is just defective. Junk product made in China by Black & Decker, a company that once made goods in the US but no longer does. Try a different brand.
