Review on Fiebings Prime Neatsfoot Compound Gallon by Amanda Smith

I ordered this instead of 100% neatsfoot oil by mistake. I usually use the same brand but not "Compound" and thought it might be worth a try. I have to say that I was not satisfied at all. It flows like water running down, not soaking up like pure oil. It didn't even get into the paper and cardboard under the saddles, it just accumulated. For one, I've never dropped so much from the saddle, and for another, pure oil never puddles like that, even if I spill it. I've just finished a few saddles with my latest clean oil and immediately there was a noticeable drop in absorption and application. At first it looked like it would absorb, but it actually took more coats than pure oil to finish filling. Luckily I use a lot of this oil on all my saddles and gear so it will run out soon and I'll be oiling again.
