The main advantage that made me choose this lamp over other small lamp options is that it is rechargeable. And dim lighting is perfect when I have to work before bed, but my girlfriend would really rather have me in bed next to her than outside at the table when she goes to bed early, and now I don't. It takes a whole lamp to turn on to see my keyboard (which isn't backlit). REALLY happy when this actually happened after a few days of use - I usually work 30-45 minutes extra every night. And the lamp stays charged for hours so I have to plug in ONE less device each day - which I know is a first world issue - but it's a definite benefit nonetheless. I wish I had it for the hurricanes. We had it here in Florida in September - it's MUCH lighter and easier to use than an indoor headlamp. So I'm sure I'll benefit even more from it this fall. I definitely see myself recommending this to friends as well.
